Q: What is the difference between an ElectroWarmth® bedwarmer and an electric blanket?
A: An electric blanket is used as a covering, the bed warmer is used under the bedding. You sleep ON it, not UNDER it. The bedwarmer attaches directly to your mattress and is covered up by your normal bedding. ElectroWarmth® bed warmers are much more energy efficient than an electric blanket because of the way they are used. Your covers hold in the heat that rises from below. The heat from an electric blanket rises from above you and escapes into the room.
Q: My home heating costs are high, will this warmer cost me more for electricity?
A: No. In fact, with an ElectroWarmth® bedwarmer, you can turn down the heat in your home during the night and still sleep comfortably. By turning down the heat in your home, you will not only save on heating fuel costs, but your furnace blower, refrigerator and freezer will also run less in a cooler house. This will help reduce power costs. Our free brochure includes a chart showing some examples of annual heating cost savings.
Q: What do the bedwarmers look like?
A: The bed warmers very much resemble a mattress pad. They are made of white material, and are about 1/2 inch thick. The 115 volt fitted models are like a fitted sheet and have extra cloth at the head of the bed that allows the bedwarmer to cover the entire mattress, and has a skirt with elastic all around the warmer to hold the bed warmer in place. The wires are inserted into the pads. This is done in such a way that you do not feel the wires when you are laying on the bedwarmer. The 12 volt mattress pad model has several cloth tabs sewn around its border with which you safety pin (pins are provided) the bed warmer to your mattress.
Q: Are ElectroWarmth® bedwarmers washable?
A1: The ElectroWarmth 115 volt fitted bed warmers have detachable cords and can be machine washed on a gentle cycle.
A2: The ElectroWarmth 12 volt bunk warmers are not equipped with detachable cords and must be hand washed. Since the bedwarmers are used underneath your bed coverings, there is not much need to clean them on a regular basis.
Q: How does the bedwarmer stay in place under the covers?
A: The 115 volt fitted bed warmer is very similar to a fitted sheet in that it covers the entire mattress and is held in place using elastic all around the skirt of the bedwarmer. The 12 volt bunk warmers are held in place by pinning the warmer, stretched out on the mattress, through tabs that are located along the ends and sides of the pad. Pins are provided.
Q: Does the Comfort Control temperature control make a clicking sound when you change the temperature setting?
A: No. The temperature control is very quiet and transitions smoothly from one temperature setting to another.
Q: Where are the bedwarmers made?
A: ElectroWarmth® bedwarmers are manufactured in the United States in the state of Ohio.
Q: In my electric blanket, I can feel the heating wires and they are uncomfortable to me. Are the heating wires in an ElectroWarmth® bedwarmer uncomfortable as well?
A: Absolutely not. The heating wires used in ElectroWarmth® bed warmers are inserted into the padding of the warmer in order to make them undetectable when you are sleeping.
Q: Can I use a bedwarmer in my camper or trailer?
A: Yes, the ElectroWarmth® T series models are designed to use the cigarette lighter. The "T" models come with a 12 volt connector to allow them to be plugged into the cigarette lighter. Any of the 115v models work with your RV when you have a regular 115v hook-up.
Q: I am a Massage Therapist, can I use a bedwarmer on my massage table?
A: ElectroWarmth® produces a massage table warmer specifically for use by Massage Therapists. This massage table warmer allows the therapist to lower the room temperature for a cooler working environment, while keeping the client comfortable and relaxed.
Q: I have a large mattress (Queen or King) and my partner likes to be cool and I like to be warm. Can you help?
A: Absolutely! There are larger ElectroWarmth® models available with dual Comfort Controls. This allows each person to select the temperature they want.
Q: I am a truck driver and I have to keep my engine idling while I sleep in order to stay warm, do you have anything that I can use to stay warm without having to keep my engine going?
A: Yes! ElectroWarmth® T models were designed with truck drivers in mind. The cord is 10 feet long which gives you plenty of length to reach from the cigarette lighter socket to your bunk. This allows you to sleep comfortably in a warm bunk without having to idle your truck. The warmer will pay for itself in just a couple days in fuel savings alone. You will also be cutting down on air pollution from the exhaust fumes from your truck. ElectroWarmth® bunk warmers are in use all over the United States by many trucking fleets.
